Rick Perry

In my opinion Rick Perry has very little chance of winning the nomination right now. He's done very poorly in the last few debates and his history with racism and a certain rock just aren't appealing factors either. Also his controversial stance on immigration also helped shun his supporters. Unlike Romney though he appeals to many evangelical voters, and he also has a record conservatives like, big on gun control, big on anti-abortion, and big on death penalty, so at this point with Cain falling it looks like its all up in the air for who can get the nomination.

The key object in this cartoon is the deficit reduction plan and the key character is Superman, but he is admitting defeat.

Gorrell is both alluding to Superman and the Congressional Super Committee.

The main issue this is dealing with is the failure of the Super Committee to agree on anything and to get anything done.

The message is that some one else could be better suited to do that "superjob" and it's a huge project that they have infront of them.

His political preference is seemingly neutral of this author.
